Everything changes and evolves, flows as water – and the Oltremare marine park has flowed a long way: here human visitors meet dolphins and nature in a completely new and different experience, generating emotions never felt before. In Europe’s famously most beautiful artificial lagoon, a faithful replica of a rocky inlet of the Adriatic sea containing 9 million litres of salty water, you can observe dolphins and interact with them all day long. In this unique open lagoon, show borders onto personal experience and enrichment, learning mingles with feeling. The new “Dolphins’ Voice” attraction gives all visitors, especially the younger ones, an opportunity for encounters and narration, for the promotion of respect towards diversity and towards these beautiful, often endangered, marine mammals. The mission of the park is to entice and educate through fun, to teach that dreaming leads to learning. Here knowledge is promoted through play, and the peaceful joy brought by the beauty of swimming dolphins carry the important message that these animals need to be protected and respected. Through its educational programme and adventure events, Oltremare offers information on a wide range of wildlife preservation projects and initiatives that do not only involve dolphins but encompass energy, nature as a whole and its four elements water, air, earth and fire.
Families will love the river boat cruise and the 4,000 sqm area with suspended bridges, tree-top walkways, ladders, perches and ropes.
Come and take a close look at birds of prey, dolphins, farm animals, forest parrots. Discover the underwater world of the tropical oceans and the Mediterranean sea. Or explore the Darwin area, a special trail across a prehistoric forest that illustrates the history of evolution.
Last but not least, the show arena is the venue for musicals and other performances that entertain while raising awareness about the need to reduce the distance between man and nature, by showing the experiences of those who work and fight for environmental and wildlife protection day by day.
