From Lido degli Estensi, towards the hinterland, following on the right Via Cagliari, under Strada Statale 309 Romea, near to the bridge over Porto Canale; in a short time you can reach Valli di Comacchio, a wide and calm place with its casoni (fishing houses) and the perceptible atmosphere of its past.
After Canale Logonovo, where we can see “bilancioni”, typical fishing cabins, we can reach Comacchio's saltworks, haven of lively and colorful colony of aquatic birds, as pink flamingos. Along the path towards Casone Foce, we can admire Torre Rossa, old defensive building. From Stazione Foce start guided excursions into valli or saltworks, on foot or by boat.
Following on the right the bank of Valle Fattibello, we can reach Comacchio's old town center: bridges, canals, museums, churches, colonnades and fish's fragrance are the characteristics of this picturesque town. Spend some time at Manifattura dei Marinati to discover the history and processing of eels. From the town a cycling lane lead back to Porto Garibaldi.
